The aim of Camberwell After School Project is to develop a coherent and comprehensive service that reflects the needs of local people, by providing effective day care in a family setting and requesting the involvement of all parents where possible.
This will have the objective of:
1) Advancing the education of children in need of respite care by the provision of safe and satisfying group play.
2) Aiming to meet the individual needs of each child.
3) Promoting tolerance and understanding between all children and working towards a more equal society with particular reference to race, sex, class and those with disabilities.
4) Developing amongst the children a sense of Co-operation and social concern for others.
5) Promoting educational activities which will enhance the child’s development and which will not be stressful.
6) Providing adequate indoor and outdoor play opportunities to ensure that all children have an understanding of their environment.
7) Increasing the participation of young children in all forms of recreational and educational activities.
8) Improving the opportunity for local people to develop their skills in the labour market by providing services for potential working parents and mature students.
9) Promoting equality of opportunity through enabling adults to increase their achievements, with particular regards to women, those from the black and ethnic minority communities and people with disabilities or special needs.
